Options for Appropriate Sympathy Gifts

A very good friend of mine passed away recently. We were very close growing up, and I am very fond of her family. I of course attended the service and sent a beautiful arrangement of her favorite flowers to the funeral home along with a personalized condolence card to the family. It’s been about a month since the funeral, and I really want to send her mother a gift to let her know that I am thinking of her. I know that she has to follow a very strict diet, so a food basket is not an option. I am wondering what some other options are for appropriate sympathy gifts.
